A Seattle scientist learned from the AP she is 1 of 3 to win the Nobel in medicine

Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi won the Nobel Prize in medicine on Monday for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance. An Associated Press photographer, Lindsey Wasson, helped give her the news early Monday morning.
