Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says the province is putting $29 million into creating a new sheriffs patrol unit to shore up security at the portion of the border it shares with Montana. The unit, with drones and drug-detecting dogs, is to begin patrolling the border early next year. (Dec. 12, 2024)
