Canada intends to recognize Palestinian state: Carney

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada intends to recognize Palestine as a state in September if the Palestinian Authority agrees to undertake elections next year. He says it's important to work toward a two-state solution, saying this has been undermined by the Hamas attack on Israel in 2023 as well as Israeli policies in Gaza and the West Bank.
