Paleontologists at the University of Alberta say they have discovered the world's biggest and oldest Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton. Named for a bottle of scotch that was shared the night it was discovered, "Scotty'' is also the largest dinosaur skeleton ever found in Canada. Scotty has a skeleton that is 13-metres long which means it would have weighed more than 8,800 kilograms when it roamed prehistoric Saskatchewan roughly 66 million years ago. That's about 400 kilograms heavier than its heaviest counterpart.It was first discovered in 1991, but due to his bones being encased in sandstone, it took years for Scotty to finally be put back together. Researchers also believe that Scotty could well be into his early 30s - a senior in terms of tyrannosaurs.The Royal Saskatchewan Museum will show off the enormous skeleton to the public this May.
