Case of Canadians held in China raised in Parliament on eve of anniversary

O’Toole: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says two Canadians held in China must be sent home, making the comments on the eve of the one-year anniversary of their detention. Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig have been held without access to a lawyer or their families in apparent retaliation for Canada holding Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou on an extradition request from the United States. Trudeau tells Conservative foreign affairs critic Erin O’Toole in question period that the Liberals have sent a clear message the two men must be released and will continue to press for their freedom.
