Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre calls Trump tariff threat 'unjustified'

Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre called on the Trudeau government to cut taxes, kill carbon emission caps, and tighten the border after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump threatened to impose a 25 per cent tariff on good coming from Canada and Mexico. Earlier, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he is convening an emergency first ministers' meeting to discuss the possibility of the steep new tariffs. (Nov. 26, 2024)
