Conservatives want tougher penalties for gun criminals
Interim Conservative leader Candice Bergen is calling on the Liberal government to "get serious" about protecting communities from gun violence and scrap a bill to repeal some mandatory minimum sentences. Bergen made the remarks a day after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government introduced legislation to freeze the sale, purchase or importation of handguns in Canada.
