Election 2025: Poilievre pledges to bring back plastic straws
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says he would end the Liberal government's ban on some single-use plastic items including straws. Poilievre claims the ban, along with rules being phased in to increase the amount of recycled content in plastics, calling it a "tax." Liberal Leader Mark Carney calls Poilievre's policy an import from the United States and says there are affordable alternatives to the products that have been banned. (April 18, 2025)
