Haida celebrate title agreement, Trudeau emotional at ceremony

The federal government and the Haida Nation have signed an agreement recognizing Aboriginal title over the archipelago of Haida Gwaii off British Columbia's northern coast. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the official signing ceremony, telling the crowd that the agreement enshrines the right of the Haida to control their own destiny. (Feb. 18, 2025)
