Herd helps guide blind elephant as they escape rising floodwater in Thailand's Chiang Mai province

It isn’t just humans who've been displaced by flooding in Thailand, in recent weeks. An animal foundation in the northern province of Chiang Mai has posted video on its social media account of elephants under its care wading through rising, muddy water to ground less inundated. Three of them dash through the deluge with some ease but, according to the Elephant Nature Park, a fourth one is blind and gets left behind. It has greater difficulty passing through wrecked fencing. The other elephants appear to call out to it, to guide it to their sides.
