Liberal MPs react to decision to invite Indian PM to G7 in Alberta

Liberal MPs are reacting to the decision by Prime Minister Mark Carney to invite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 in Alberta, despite tensions over allegations India was involved in the killing of a Canadian in British Columbia in 2023. MP Yasir Naqvi says it's a chance to engage India, one of the world's largest economies, while still ensuring the criminal investigation continues. B.C. MP Sukh Dhaliwal says India is one of the top actors engaged in foreign interference but says after a meeting with Carney, he feels the prime minister understands the criticism. (June 11, 2025)
