Main B.C. highway to reopen to essential traffic by Monday

B.C. officials provided an update Wednesday on the work underway to reopen highways damaged by extensive flooding and landslides last month. Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says the federal government has announced $5 billion to support the recovery process, while Transportation Minister Rob Fleming says the Coquihalla, a hey highway connecting B.C.’s Interior with the Lower Mainland, is set to reopen to essential traffic Monday.
