Military drama 'Out Standing' celebrates Canada's first female infantry officer

Quebec director Mélanie Charbonneau says her military drama “Out Standing” celebrates “a different kind of hero.” The film recounts the hurdles faced by Canada’s first female infantry officer, Sandra Perron, who wrote about her experiences in the 2017 memoir "Out Standing in the Field.” The film arrives in theatres Sept. 26. (Sept. 25, 2025)
