Russian state TV channel RU-RTR aired on Monday footage of Moscow residents cleaning public spaces over the weekend, in keeping with the old Soviet tradition of "Subbotnik." The tradition, like many others inherited from the Soviet times, is continued in modern Russia with citizens volunteering for gardening and cleaning duties in parks and streets.
