Newsroom Ready: Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie steps back after announcing she’ll step down
Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie cancelled her first scheduled public appearance since announcing over the weekend that she will resign after receiving weak support in a leadership vote. She was supposed to join her caucus and the other party leaders at the International Plowing Match, but colleague John Fraser says she needs a bit of time away from the spotlight. Fraser, the party’s parliamentary leader, won't seek the leadership, but other caucus members are leaving the door open. (Sept. 16, 2025)
