Newsroom Ready: Opposition party leaders respond to federal budget

Opposition parties have largely panned the Liberal government's federal budget in early reactions. Speaking in the House of Commons, opposition leader Pierre Poilievre said Conservatives will not support Budget 2025, which he said will drive up costs for Canadians. The Liberals will need either a handful of opposition votes or a sufficient number of abstentions to pass this key confidence test. (Nov. 4, 2025).
