Newsroom Ready: Tam explains new evidence for mask-wearing

The evidence for wearing masks to stop the spread of COVID-19 is still weak, says chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam, but has changed enough that the federal government's advice on the subject has changed. It now tilts toward wearing non-medical masks in public — to keep wearers from spreading the novel coronavirus, not to help them keep from catching it.
