Newsroom Ready: Toronto tenants celebrate victory rent strike

Dozens of north-Toronto tenants celebrate what they a call a rare victory after the Landlord and Tenant Board issued an interim order requiring their corporate landlord to do immediate maintenance work on long-needed repairs. Over a hundred renters in two buildings went on rent strike last October, seeking urgent repairs in dozens of units and the withdrawal of applications the landlord filed to increase rent above provincial guidelines.
