Ottawa announces drought relief for ag producers

Help is on the way for Canadian farmers and ranchers being severely impacted by this year's drought. Scorching temperatures and little to no rainfall have left crops in poor condition across wide swaths of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Federal Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau announced a number of measures Thursday and the government is working closely with the provinces to respond on a rapid basis to the drought situation in Western Canada.
