More than 300,000 power outages still were reported in Michigan, while nearly 100,000 outages were posted for Wisconsin and Indiana by early afternoon. Churches that had power, as well as schools and fire halls, were turned into warming centers as utilities worked to restore electricity, a job that will likely continue on Monday in small communities and rural pockets.
